What happens if I miss a Household Bin payment?

First of all, don’t worry – payments can sometimes fail for a number of reasons, such as expired card details or changes to your bank account. A quick step-by-step of the process is as follows:

  • If a payment does not go through, we will send you one SMS notification to let you know.
  • You will have 30 days (one month) to clear any outstanding balance. This 30-day period begins from the date you are invoiced or, in the case of overweight charges, from the date you receive the SMS notification.
  • Your account will not automatically go on hold during this 30-day period, and your service will continue as normal.
  • If the outstanding balance has not been cleared after 30 days, your account will automatically be placed on hold until the balance is paid in full.
  • Your bins will not be emptied while your account is on hold.
  • If you have new card or bank details that are different from those you originally signed up with, please contact our Customer Centre on 091 787800. Your new payment details will need to be updated and saved to your account for future payments.

How do I get my Household Bin account reactivated?

  • To reactivate an account that has been placed on hold, the outstanding balance must be cleared in full.
  • You can contact our Customer Centre team on 091 787800 during working hours for assistance with making payment or updating your payment details.
  • We recommend clearing your balance as soon as possible once your account is placed on hold to avoid disruption to your bin collection service.
